Survival Tactics for the Dukan Diet Attack Phase

The Dukan diet Attack Phase is the commencement stage of the famous Dukan diet, pioneered by the French nutritionist Pierre Dukan. Although this phase is supposed to last about 7 days, most people find day 5 to be the magical day by when they would have lost about 2 to 4 pounds. The main purpose of this phase is to familiarise the dieter with the eating habits that needs to be inculcated for the successful culmination of the diet. In fact, what is instilled here will go on to become a lifelong habit with the dieter, should he or she decide to follow the Dukan diet.

During the Dukan diet Attack Phase, most people find that they experience immediate and significant weight loss, sometimes even up to 6 pounds in a week's time. In the latter stages of the diet, the weight loss would be gradual, as the body begins to adapt itself to the new regime. The first few days of the Dukan diet Attack Phase is the most challenging for dieters as not only is the body being steered out of its old eating habits (and possibly out of its addictions to certain foods like sugar and fat), it is also left craving for carbohydrates and this yearning is manifested by tiredness and exhaustion. In many cases a headache, although not exactly severe, but nevertheless noticeable, has been observed in many dieters during this segment of the diet. But these uncomfortable symptoms usually go away after the completion of the Attack Phase.

Another situation arising as a direct result of the new diet is constipation. This should come as no surprise as the Dukan diet involves the intake of more proteins than anything else; there is obviously going to be lack of dietary fibre which result in constipation. This is the reason that the Attack Phase emphasises the consumption of oat bran and wheat bran in addition to plenty of water. Water plays an important role in the diet as dehydration can lead to extra stress on the kidneys.

Large intake of protein can also generate bad breath, because of the fact that the dieting body undergoes ketosis. Here again, plenty of water as also chewing gum (making sure that it is sugar-free) should help alleviate bad breath generated during the Attack Phase.

During this rung of the Dukan diet, it is important not to skip meals or go hungry as most diet veterans are likely to do, probably due to force of habit. Exercise is not a favourite among dieters therefore the good news for the Attack phase is that excessive exercise is not encouraged during this segment. However, a very moderate exercise in the form of a walk lasting 20 minutes every day is necessary during this segment of the diet.

Dukan Diet - Enjoy The Cruise Phase And Lose Weight

The Dukan diet is proving very popular and has helped millions to lose weight and successfully keep it off.

Dukan Diet Exercise

Exercise is an important part of this diet. However this will probably not prove too taxing as you are only recommended to walk briskly for twenty minutes per day in the attack phase (first phase), and then thirty minutes per day in the cruise phase (second phase).

During the attack phase you will probably feel quite tired as your body adapts to a new diet and twenty minutes walking per day will seem enough.

Cruise Phase Enjoyment

However once you reach the cruise phase you will be able to add some vegetables every other day and you will be getting use to the diet more.

The cruise phase advises you to walk briskly for thirty minutes per day. If you enjoyed exercise and sport before you started the diet, you will feel more like taking part in these activities again during the cruise phase.

The cruise phase is a more enjoyable phase because you will have the feeling of achievement from losing weight in the attack phase and now you have a list of vegetables that you can add to your diet every other day.

You will feel more energetic and as you lose weight it may be psychological but even, just a few pounds seems to make me feel as if walking up the stairs and doing those routine sort of things seems that bit easier.

With your extra energy as I mentioned above you will be able to take part in your favourite activities again.

If you enjoy swimming, you will find that you can swim a bit further than before, the same goes for jogging and cycling.

This will in turn help you to lose some more weight.

It becomes a virtuous circle. You lose some weight, so you can exercise for a longer period of time, then you lose even more weight and exercise for even longer.

This is a great feeling. You are losing weight each week and getting fitter at the same time.

The cruise phase of this diet is recommended to last until you reach your desired weight. If you are enjoying this phase you may stay on it for longer than you initially expected.

You can gain a lot of information by finding out how people are experiencing this phase of the diet by reading their blogs and visiting the Dukan diet forums.

Dukan Diet - Attack Phase Success

Attack Phase Success

A lot of people have had amazing success with the dukan diet. A lot of this is down to the attack phase. The attack phase is the first phase and it is the phase where you will lose most weight. Many dieters have problems with diets for a variety of reasons. Some of the shortfalls of other diets are that you have to count calories or you can only drink low fat drinks and not eat real food. The Dukan diet is popular because you can eat real food and you do not need to be so careful about counting calories.

You eat just proteins in this phase such as chicken, lean beef and most fish such as tuna and salmon. If you feel your energy flagging you are allowed to drink one calorie soft drinks. You can also eat things such as crab sticks to keep hunger at bay. This phase only lasts from two to five days and most people will lose from two to five pounds on it. This will give you a great deal of satisfaction and encourage you to continue with the diet.

A lot of people eat a lot on the first day or two of the diet. This is partly psychological. If you are on a diet, you know that you cannot eat some of the things that you like, so you can compensate by eating more of the things that you are allowed.

After the first couple of days, you will probably settle down and not be tempted to eat as much as you did and then you will start to lose weight.

Once you weigh yourself after the first five or seven days, you will probably be surprised at how much weight you have lost and as mentioned before this will encourage you to continue with the diet and lose even more weight.

Avoiding Constipation

It is a good idea to drink plenty of water to avoid constipation whilst on the diet.

Dukan Diet Forums

Whilst on the diet you will gain a lot by finding out how other Dukan dieters are getting on and how they have over come problems that you may face by reading the Dukan diet forums.

You can also have a good read through these forums before you start, to give you more of an insight in to this diet and how it has helped millions of people.

The Dukan Diet "Attack" Phase

The Dukan Diet is the French diet which is creating a storm in the dieting community. It has been around for over 10 years in France and has recently been "imported" to the UK and US, where many dieters, previously unsuccessful in their attempts to slim on conventional low fat diets, are taking to it like ducks to water.

The diet is made up of four phases and rather than skim through all four of them here, I am dedicating this article to just the first phase - the. The amount of time you stay on it depends on how much weight you have to lose. Here's a rough guideline:

• less than 10lb - one day;

• less than 20lb - three days;

• 20-40lb - five days;

• more than 40lb - seven to ten days

You are of course advised to seek medical advice first.

There are 72 different foods to choose from in the first phase and you are given a full list of them in the Dukan diet book. It is stressed by Dr Dukan that you must stick to the diet completely; not one morsel of a forbidden food should pass your lips during this first phase, otherwise you may have to start all over again! Here's a list of the main foods you are allowed:

• Lean beef

• Veal

• Offal

• Chicken

• Turkey

• Lean ham

• All fish, including oily fish

• Seafood

• Up to two eggs per day

• Fat-free natural and flavoured yogurt, but not yoghurt containing fruit

• Fat-free fromage frais

• Quark

• Cottage cheese

• Skimmed milk

You also have to eat 1.5 tablespoons of oat bran every day. This serves two purposes; firstly, it fills you up, as it swells up to 25 times its original size in your stomach. Secondly, oat bran has enormous health benefits in that it lowers cholesterol, is heart-healthy and leads to improved intestinal health.

Also allowed during the Attack phase are sweeteners, vinegar, spices, herbs, garlic, onion, gherkins, pickled onions, lemon juice on food, mustard and salt (in moderation), sugar-free natural ketchup in moderation, and sugar-free chewing gum. This should help jazz things up a bit if you find it difficult - but remember, it's only for a short period of time, and then you're on to the "Cruise" phase.

Exercise is "non-negotiable" and you are advised to walk briskly for 20 minutes every day, and you are also asked to drink 1.5 litres of water. You can include coffee, tea and diet drinks in this total.

My conclusion: hard, if you're not used to cutting down on your carbs, but worth it. It will kick-start your metabolism and you will feel great!

What Is The Dukan Diet Attack Phase Good News?

The Attack phase of the Dukan diet is as difficult as you want it be. Which means of course that if you don't want it to be difficult you can make life easy on yourself. For most people used to calorie counting diets, starving yourself and feeling miserable for weeks in order to shed those excess pounds, the idea that diets must be hard, is firmly entrenched in their psyche. And since the Attack phase is the toughest stage of the Dukan diet, it is little wonder that people suspect it to be a Hell week (or Hell couple of days, depending on how long their particular attack phase will be).

Now, yes, of course you can't expect an easy few days. Things are going to be different. After all, you can't just plop down on the couch when you get home, turn on the TV and order a pizza. Nor, can you have some delicious treat (like a huge chocolate fudge cake) waiting patiently for you to ravish it when you get home. And, you can't just get home and throw together a meal out of anything you happen to have in the fridge.

The Attack phase requires planning and forethought. You need to have a kitchen stocked with Dukan-diet friendly ingredients. If you don't plan in advance you may end up having to make a midnight run to an 24hr Tescos or go to bed hungry.

And during these first few days of the Dukan diet you aren't really going to have any 'treats'. Well, you're going to have to learn to treat yourself with some new foods and fancies.

It's not going to be plain-sailing but you do not have to suffer by any means. Life does become a little bit more of an effort if you are used to eating whatever you fancy and buying it at the last minute. However, you don't need to plan ahead any more than a couple of days and one trip to the supermarket will do it. When I first started the Dukan diet, I went from going to the supermarket every single day on my way home to going two or three times a week. Not having to worry about buying dinner made up for the couple times I did have to go shopping for food.

Don't be tempted to devise one daily Dukan diet menu and just stick to that every day of the Attack phase. If your Attack is only two days long then you might get away with it but if you are planning on four or five days you will soon tire and then get sick of those same old foods.

It's true that this phase is the most restrictive but that does not mean that you can not have variety in your menu during this time. There are so many combination's of ingredients that you can eat something different for every meal of your Attack phase. The secret to making life as easy as possible is to never get bored. Constantly stimulate your body and your mind by eating as many different and new flavours as possible. And coming up with exciting new recipes.

You see, you can make life hard on yourself during the Attack phase or you can make life easier and try to enjoy yourself. By keeping things varied and by planning ahead you can ensure than during these first few days you never get bored and losing the weight becomes an exciting new part of your life.

Start the change now. You can follow my progress on the Dukan diet from day one of the attack phase until the end. Making the Dukan Diet Attack Phase More Palatable

The Dukan diet is a regime, created by French nutritionist Dr. Pierre Dukan, that promises fast weight loss. I lost 4lbs in the first 5 days during my Attack phase. The Dukan diet has been especially designed with diet motivation and satisfaction in mind. Accordingly, people attempting the Dukan diet can expect to see fast weight loss, virtually no hunger pangs or food cravings, and no calorie counting or food weighing. Let's take a quick look at these benefits of the Dukan diet.

Fast weight loss is a huge motivating factor in any diet. When you can see the pounds dropping off. When your clothes fit better and other people compliment you on your weight loss, you feel motivated to keep on going. If you are rapidly losing weight but you feel hungry all the time and craving all your favourite food and snacks, you can quickly lose motivation. You are also more likely to give up on your diet if eating becomes a chore; with calories needing counting and food having to be carefully weighed and measured. The Dukan diet anticipates all these motivation killers and manages to avoid them. On the Dukan diet you will lose weight fast and you won't feel hungry or have to count calories and weigh food. You can eat as much as you like of the allowed foods.

The most rapid weight loss on the Dukan diet is during the first phase, called the Attack phase. Dr. Dukan, through 30 years of experience as a nutritionist helping people lose weight, knows that dieters are the most determined during the first few days of their diet. He designed the Dukan diet with this in mind and came up with what he calls the Attack phase. Depending on the weight loss goals, the attack phase lasts from 2-7 days. These days are protein only days. Dieters can eat most meats and fish, as well as eggs. Dairy products such as cottage cheese, yogurt, quark and skimmed milk can be eaten as long as they are the non-fat varieties.

These foods can be eaten as often as the dieter feels hungry. The high protein content means dieters feel full very quickly and don't suffer hunger pangs. Fibre is added to the diet in the form of oat bran. A recommended 1.5 litres+ of water should be drunk every day for the benefit of the dieter's kidneys. After a few days the diet should see weight loss of up to 6lbs.

Although you will lose weight and not feel hungry, you may find the menu during the Attack phase is a little bland. While you are not allowed to fry your meat, or add fatty or sugary sauces you can still make your food more palatable with a few flavour intensive additions.

Whilst on the Attack phase of the Dukan diet you can flavour your food with almost all herbs and spices. Although you must be careful with salt. Vinegar may be used to add tang, lemon juice can give zing and you can spice up your food with chillies. Rather than grilling your chicken breast as it is, you could leave it in a marinade of yogurt and tikka spices overnight. Finely chopped pickles mixed with yogurt and a squirt of lemon makes a tasty dip.

Sweeteners are also permitted on the Dukan diet. For those of you with a sweet tooth, a vanilla pod, skimmed milk and egg yolks (with sweetener to taste) is all you need for a delicious dairy dessert. Mix these ingredients together in the morning, transfer to a pot and put it in the fridge - you'll have a real treat waiting for you when you get home.

The pure protein days of the Dukan diet are the most effective weight loss days but they don't have to be the hardest. With a little ingenuity you can find the flavours to jazz up all of your allowed foods.

Dukan Diet Attack Phase Secrets You Must Know If You Want To Lose Weight

The Attack phase of the Dukan Diet throws new dieters in at the deep end. There is a reason why Dr. Dukan called this phase the Attack. For the first few days of the weight loss regime you will be in the most restrictive phase of the diet. Those of you used to calorie counting diets will find themselves deep in unfamiliar territory. Anyone, who like me before I experienced the Dukan diet, will be eating meals without carbohydrates for the first time. Here are some of the things, positive and negative, you should expect from the Attack phase of the Dukan diet.

No hunger or low hunger

Everyone is different and so people will have different experiences of the Dukan diet. For some, they will find that their appetite is totally suppressed and they rarely feel hunger. Others will still feel hungry but nowhere near as much as they expected to. If you are on the Attack phase (or any phase of this weight loss regime) and you feel hungry then the solution is simple: eat more. Many people used to hunger while they're on diets expect to feel hungry on the Dukan diet. Accordingly, they deliberately but mistakenly, restrict the amount of food they eat until they feel hungry. The mistake comes with thinking that in order to lose weight you must feel hungry. This is not true.

No or low food cravings

Now feeling hungry and wanting to eat are not necessarily the same thing. Many people who are overweight will be well aware of this. You can feel totally full and still crave more food. So you'd be forgiven for thinking that even if you didn't feel hungry while on the Dukan diet you may still be undone by simply craving the delicious treats and snacks you're used to. Well this may surprise you but while you're following this regime not only does hunger diminish but the desire to eat and eat and eat does too. When I first experienced the Attack phase I was really surprised by just how little my desire to eat fatty, sugary foods actually was. It was hard to believe that just a few days previously I didn't think I could get through the day without such treats.

Fast weight loss

Again people are all different and some people lose more weight than others during the Attack phase. But most people who've been on the Dukan diet agree that during this phase - even though it is only a few days long - a lot of weight comes off compared to other diets. Looser jeans, tops and jackets feeling less tight and only after a week on the Dukan. This was a very pleasant surprise for me and could be for you too.

Tiredness and headaches

Things aren't all easy going on the Attack phase however. Remember, it isn't called the Attack for nothing. As you are getting used to the new diet menu you may experience slight headaches and increased feelings of tiredness. For almost everyone these symptoms only last the few days they are on the Attack phase and completely disappear when they enter the next phase of the Dukan.

I have included all my recipes and menu ideas as well as top tips in getting the most out of your Dukan diet experience. Dukan Diet Attack Phase - How To Make It More Palatable

The Dukan diet attack is a phase with in a program, developed by French expert in nutrition Doctor. Pierre Dukan, that guarantees rapid weight loss. I dropped 4 lbs within the very first five days throughout the Attack phase. Appropriately, folks trying the Dukan diet can anticipate to notice quick weight loss, without any food cravings or being hungry, with no counting calorie intake or even foods evaluating. Rapid weight loss has become a motivating element in any kind of diet plan. When you are able view the lbs shedding away. Whenever your clothing match much better and folks compliment you, on your weight reduction, you are feeling inspired to maintain on going. You are able to consume just as much as you want from the permitted food products.

The Attack Phase

Probably the most quick weight reduction about the Dukan diet attack is throughout the very first stage, known as the Attack stage. Dr. Dukan, through 3 decades of expertise being a nutritional expert assisting men and women shed weight, recognizes that those on a diet would be the most motivated throughout the first couple of days of their diet plan. He created the Dukan diet being mindful of this and developed just what he names the Attack stage.

Dukan Diet Plan Attack Phase - Does It Have To Be Tasteless And Brutal?

Developed by Dr. Pierre Dukan, a French nutritionist with an incredible focus on rapid fat loss, the Dukan diet plan promises its followers two primary things: quick results and practically no pain or discomfort whatsoever. This article will address the diet and in particular, the infamous Dr. Dukan Diet attack phase and what you can expect to encounter during it.

First, let us discuss this diet's real claim to fame, which is lightning fast fat loss. It goes without saying that there is no better way to keep yourself on track with a diet than to actually see the results happening before your very eyes. This not only keeps you motivated to continue, but also provides you with some much needed excitement and immediate pride. The Dukan Diet meal plan may very well allow you to enjoy these great benefits.

One reason why so many of us fail when we attempt to diet is that our tummies start growling and we just can't block out the dreadful hunger pangs that can truly consume our entire thought process. If you've dieted in the past, I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about. Fortunately, by following the Dukan Diet book, you likely won't encounter any cravings that you can't handle. In fact, you may not have any cravings at all!

So What Is the Dukan Diet Attack Phase?

This eating program starts off with a bang. The first phase, known as the Dukan Diet attack phase, plays on human psychology and uses it to your advantage. What the heck do I mean? Well, if you're anything like me and millions of other dieters, you understand full well that we always feel the strongest and most optimistic about our success right at the very beginning. Dr. Dukan understands this, too. As a result, he designed this diet to produce stunning results right from the onset.

Essentially, this is an intense dieting stretch that can last up to approximately one week. It will probably sound familiar to you if you've done any type of low-carb diet. Similar to the Atkins induction phase, the Dukan Diet attack phase is a carnivore's dream come true. Meats (never fried), cheeses, eggs, fish, and non-fat dairy products can be consumed liberally. Additionally, oat bran (for essential fiber) and lots of good clean water (for obvious reasons) are also encouraged.

While the weight loss can be quite significant, to the tune of up to a pound a day for the first week... and while excessive, unbearable hunger will be virtually non-existent throughout the process, you can very easily become rather bored with your limited menu options. There are a few tricks that I recently learned that can keep this from being the case for you.

1. Lemon juice and lemon zest are your friends, use them often!

2. Use yogurt and spices as marinades.

3. Fresh, fragrant herbs can really bring your meals to life.

4. Artificial sweeteners are permitted, and when combined with egg yolks and fat-free milk, an attack phase-friendly dessert is born!

Above all else, never stop learning. There are some extremely valuable resources out there that can keep you on track and supercharge your weight loss results. You just have to muster up the desire to seek them out and use them to the best of your ability.

Is It Possible To Enjoy The Dukan Diet Attack Phase?

Is it possible to enjoy the Attack Phase of the Dukan diet? I think that it is. If you haven't tried the Dukan diet for yourself then I can understand you being skeptical. In fact, I would not blame you for expecting every phase of the Dukan diet to be, while not desperately unpleasant, something you would not exactly enjoy. For most people, diets and especially the first few days of the diet are pretty unpleasant. The Attack Phase of the Dukan diet takes place during the first few days (you only do this phase once and never lasts more than a week) and so should be the hardest phase. It is called the 'attack' and not the 'relaxing preamble phase' after all!

Before looking more closely at the Attack Phase, I want to take a look at diets in general. People have a tendency to sum up large and complex events into one single experience. The less verbose among us manage to sum things up, no matter how eventful, in a single word or two.

How were the holidays? Good.

What was Francine's wedding like? Fabulous.

How was school today? Rubbish.

What was the journey like? A nightmare!

Of course, if we're asked to expand on the subject we can if we're willing. And, most of us can break things down and accept that some aspects of the day or event were better than others. When what we're doing is warmly anticipated or if we enjoyed the event then we tend to forget or gloss over the bad things and vice-versa. As time goes by, most of us slowly forget the bad and remember events, unless especially tragic or traumatic, as positive experiences. What has this got to do with the Dukan diet and the Attack phase, you may wonder.

Well, when we choose to go on diets (no matter what kind of diet it is, simple calorie counting, the Dukan diet, joining a Weight-Watchers club, the Atkins or only drinking hot water and molasses and cayenne pepper) we have mixed feelings. There is some relief that we're finally doing something about losing the weight we've been worrying about. There is excitement at the thought of losing weight. But there is also fear that the diet plan may not work and all our efforts will be for nothing. Or that we will not be able to stick it out until the end. Finally, there is dread or even sadness, at the thought of not being able to enjoy the foods, treats and snacks we're used to eating and comforting ourselves with.

Most people will take these separate emotions (relief, excitement, fear, dread and sadness) and decide whether or not they are looking forward (or not) to being on their diet and what this experience will be like.

However, diets are complex events. Rather than always remaining one single experience, things are constantly changing. The first few days of a diet are not same as being the fourth or fifth week in. The experience of month one on a diet is not the same as what being on the diet in month three is like. As you progress with your diet, you change.

If I were to ask you how you'd feel if you lost half the weight you needed to what would you say? Suppose you need to lose 30lbs, would you feel any different if you were 15lbs lighter? I think most people would. So if it takes twelve weeks to lose 30lbs, after six weeks you will have lost half the weight. That means that after just over a month you will be feeling different.

What this means is that you can't plan to go on the Dukan diet, work out that it will take you 12 weeks to lose the weight and think: I'm going to spend 12 weeks feeling like... This is because as the weeks go by how you feel, your experiences of the diet, will necessarily change.

What about some of the other emotions. Take relief, for example, you will feel this from day one. You've been worrying about being over weight and wanting to lose some pounds but never got around to it. Each meal, every snack or treat has been accompanied with a sense of guilt that you ought not be eating this.

However, with most diets, this pleasant feeling of relief doesn't last long. This is simply because the sensation of relief is replaced with feeling hungry all the time and craving your old meals, treats and snacks.

The Dukan diet is a low hunger diet. Not only do you feel less hungry than you do on other diets (simply because high-protein diets are more filling) but you actually crave other foods much less often. People say that one of the biggest surprises that they have whilst on the Attack phase (and all the other phases of the Dukan diet) is that they don't feel hungry or really want to eat sugary or fatty foods.

This means that the pleasant feeling of relief that you are finally doing something about your weight, lasts a lot longer.

The other emotions that you feel when on a diet include excitement over losing weight and fear that you may not or can't stick to the plan. The Dukan diet is a fast weight loss diet. In fact during the Attack phase most people lose a lot of weight. This phase only lasts three or four days but this is usually enough for weight loss to be noticeable.

After two weeks of the Dukan diet, by this time you are into the Cruise Phase, you will discover your clothes feeling loser and will probably start receiving positive comments on your weight loss. What great motivation for carrying on going with it!

This means that if you plan on starting the Dukan diet tomorrow, then the next few days, during your Attack Phase, you can expect to feel relief and excitement that you're doing something that works. Of course, all diets are a stressful time. Don't expect it to be all plain-sailing. But expect it to be interesting and possibly even fun.

You can look ahead to 4 weeks from now. After this time most people are noticeably thinner. Clothes are more comfortable and they're hearing positive remarks about their weight loss.

As you progress through the Dukan diet, you pass through different phases. With every new phase, more and more foods are included and your menu becomes more and more varied. On the third phase you are even including Celebration Meals in which you are allowed to eat any foods you like!

The Dukan diet is one of changes. Not only does the diet itself change over time but so does your body and expectations. Due to the lack of hunger and food cravings coupled with the fast weight loss, the diet is high on motivation. This means that the more positive aspects of a weight loss program are emphasized. These positive aspects include: relief that you're finally doing something about your weight and relief that you have found a diet solution that works; excitement that you are losing the pounds and anticipation over finally being the size and shape you want to be.

Knowing and experiencing this, while only in the first few days of the Dukan diet, means that, yes, it is possible to enjoy the Attack Phase.

Exercise is an important part of this diet. But is this likely to taxation be, since you only walk quickly for twenty minutes a day in the attack phase (phase i), and then 30 minutes a day in the cruise phase (second phase) are recommended.

While the attack phase, you will probably like your body will adapt feels quite tired enough apparently is a new diet and twenty minutes per day.

Cruise stage benefit

However, once you reach the cruise phase you will add every other day some vegetables in the location, and you will always use to the food.

The cruise phase will advise you promptly for thirty minutes a day to go. If you feel you enjoyed sports, before you start the diet, more like participation in these activities again during the cruise phase.

The cruise phase is a pleasant phase, because you have the feeling of the performance of weight to lose, in the attack phase and now you have a list of vegetables that you can add to your diet every other day.

You'll feel more energy and how to lose weight it can be psychological as well, only a few pounds the feeling seems to me as if the stairs make walking and this routine seems to do the sort of things, that bit easier.

The Dukan diet "attacked" phase

The Dukan diet is the French diet community created a storm in the diet. It is there for more than 10 years in France and was recently "imported" in the UK and the United States, where many dieters, previously unsuccessful it take their attempts at traditional low fat diets, slim, like ducks, water.

Diet consists of four phases, and rather than browse all four of them here, I'm only the first phase - is that in this article. The amount of time you stay on depends on how much weight you have to lose. Here is a rough guideline:

• less than 10 lb - one day;

• less than 20 lb - three days;

• 20-40 lb - five days;

• more than 40 lb - 7 to 10 days

First look of course medical advice.

There are 72 different foods, in the first phase and you choose a complete list of get diet book from them in the Dukan. It is emphasized by Dr. Dukan that you need to, keep the diet not a bite your lips should pass a forbidden food during this first phase, otherwise you can start again! Here is a list of the most important foods that you may:

• Lean beef

• Veal

• Offal

• Chicken

• Turkey

• Lean ham

• All, including fatty fish fish

• Seafood

• Up to two eggs per day

• Non-fat natural and flavored yogurt, but not yogurt with fruit

• Non-fat fromage frais

• Quark

• Cottage cheese

• Skim milk

You have also 1.5 tablespoons of oat bran food every day. This serves two purposes. First of all, fills it how it swells up to 25 times its original size in your stomach. Secondly, oat bran has enormous health benefits, it lowers cholesterol, leads to better and heart healthy intestinal health.

During the attack phase, sweeteners, vinegar, spices, herbs, garlic, onions, cucumbers, pickled onions, lemon juice on food, mustard and salt (in moderation), sugar-free natural ketchup in masses and sugar-free gum are permitted. This should be up to jazz help things a bit, if you it is hard - but remember, it's only for a short time, and then you are on the "cruise"-phase.

Exercise is "unverhandelbare" and you will get quickly for 20 minutes a day on foot, and you are also invited, drink 1.5 litres of water. Enjoy coffee, tea and diet drinks in this sum.

My conclusion: hard when you pay not to reduce on your carbohydrates, but it accustomed. It will kick-start your metabolism and make you feel great!

Survival tactics for the Dukan diet attack phase

The Dukan diet attack phase is the beginning phase of the famous Dukan diet, pioneer of the French nutritionist Pierre Dukan. Although this phase should last about 7 days, most people find day 5 to the magical day of when she would have lost about 2 to 4 pounds. The main purpose of this phase is to familiarize the Dieter with the eating habits that must be shaped for the successful outcome of the diet. The Dukan are in fact, be what is instilled here to become a lifelong habit with Dieter, should he or she who choose, follow diet.

During the Dukan phase find diet attack most people, that they will experience immediate and significant weight loss, sometimes even up to 6 pounds in a week. In the later stages of the diet, the weight loss would be gradually as the body begins to adapt to the new regime. The first couple of days the Dukan diet, the attack phase is the biggest challenge for dieters, as not only the body of his old eating habits (and possibly from their searches to certain foodstuffs such as sugar and FAT) is is, it is desire and the longing for carbohydrates by fatigue and exhaustion manifests. In many cases headaches, though not just difficult, but nevertheless noticeable was observed in this segment of the food in many dieters. But these unpleasant symptoms disappear after the completion of the attack phase.

Another situation as a direct result of the new diet is constipation. This should come as no surprise as the Dukan the inclusion of more protein than anything else includes nutrition; It is obviously lack of fiber, complete blockage. This is the reason that the attack phase emphasizes the consumption of bran and wheat bran in addition to lots of water. Water plays an important role in the diet, since dehydration can lead to additional stress to the kidney.

Large intake of protein can also generate bad breath, due to the fact that ketosis diets body experience. Here again, water, much like also chewing gum (make sure that it is sugar-free) should help to alleviate bad breath during the attack phase.

While this step the Dukan diet is important, not skip meals or starve, because most probably are diet veterans to do, probably due to the force of habit. Exercise is not a favorite for dieters, the good news for the attack phase, therefore, is not encouraging extreme physical activity in this segment. However, is a very moderate exercise in the form of a walk takes 20 minutes per day in this segment of the food necessary.

Start the change now. You can follow my progress on the Dukan diet from day one of the attack phase until the end. I have included all my recipes and menu ideas as well as top tips in getting the most out of your Dukan diet experience. It is possible the Dukan diet attack phase to enjoy?

Is it possible to enjoy the attack phase of the Dukan diet? I think that it is. If you haven't tried the Dukan diet for yourself then I can understand you being skeptical. In fact, I would not blame you for expecting every phase of the Dukan diet to be, while not desperately unpleasant, something you would not exactly enjoy. For most people, diets, and especially the first few days of the diet are pretty unpleasant. The attack phase of the Dukan diet takes place during the first few days (you only do this phase once and never lasts more than a week) and so should be the hardest phase. It is called the 'attack' and not the ' relaxing preamble phase' after all!

Before looking more closely at the attack phase, I want to take a look at diets in general. People have a tendency to sum up large and complex events into one single experience. The manage less verbose among US to sum things up, no matter how eventful in a single word or two.

Were how the holidays? Good.

What was Francine's wedding like? Fabulous.

How what school today? Rubbish.

What was the journey like? A nightmare!

Of course, if we're asked to expand on the subject we can if we're willing. And, can most of US break things down and accept that some aspects of the day or event were better than others.

Well, when we choose to go on diets (no matter what kind of diet it is, simple calorie counting, the Dukan diet, joining a weight watchers club, the Atkins or only drinking hot water and molasses and cayenne pepper) we have mixed feelings.

Rather than always remaining one single experience, constantly changing things are. The first few days of a diet are not same as being the fourth or fifth week in. The experience of one month on a diet is not the same as what being on the diet in month three is like. As you progress with your diet, you change.

If I were to ask you how you'd feel if you lost the weight you helped needed to what would you say? Mais you need to lose 30lbs, would you feel any different if you were 15lbs lighter? I think most people would. So if it takes twelve weeks to loose 30lbs, after six weeks you will have lost half the weight. That means that after just over a month you will be feeling different.

What this means is that you can't plan to go on the Dukan diet, work out that it will take you 12 the weight and think weeks to lose: I'm going to spend 12 weeks feeling like... This is because as the weeks go by how you feel, your experiences of the diet, will necessarily change.

What about some of the other emotions. Take relief, for example, you will feel this from day one. You've been worrying about being over weight and wanting to lose some pounds but never got around to it each meal, every snack or treat has been accompanied with a sense of guilt that you ought not be eating this.

However, with most diets, this pleasant feeling of relief does not last long. This is simply because the sensation of relief is replaced with feeling hungry all the time and craving your old meals, treats and snacks.

The Dukan diet is a diet low hunger.

The other emotions that you feel when on a diet include excitement over losing weight and fear that you may not or can not stick to the plan. The Dukan diet is a almost weight loss diet. In fact during the attack phase most people loose a lot of weight.

Don't expect it to be all plain sailing.

Due to the lack of hunger and food cravings coupled with the almost weight loss, the diet is high on motivation. This means that the more positive aspects of a weight loss program are emphasized. These positive aspects include: relief that you're finally doing something about your weight and hit that you have found a diet solution that works. excitement that you are losing the pounds and anticipation over finally being the size and shape you want to be.

Knowing and experiencing this, while only in the first few days of the Dukan diet, means that, yes, it is possible to enjoy the attack phase.

Start the change now. You can follow my progress on the Dukan diet from day one of the attack phase until the end.
