The 3 Dukan Diet Mistakes You Do Not Want To Being Making


Nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes. This includes people on the Dukan diet too. In this article I will be looking at three mistakes you don't want to be making on your Dukan diet.

Not eating enough food

For people used to being on calorie counting or starvation diets it is difficult to get out of the 'you must be hungry if you are on a diet' way of thinking. When you are on the Dukan diet, as long as you are sticking to the one hundred allowed foods, you can eat whenever you want and how much you want. There is absolutely no need to feel hungry while you are on this diet. Being able to eat unlimited amounts of high protein food means hunger and food cravings will not be a problem for you.

Weighing yourself every day

During the Attack phase of the Dukan diet you will probably lose a lot of weight very quickly. Your friends and family may even comment on the difference and you might find yourself wearing clothes that were previously too tight to get into. However, the speed of the weight loss will slow. This is perfectly normal and to be expected. Diets that make you lose huge amounts of weight, very quickly, are dangerous and can result in you being seriously ill. And if you escape hospital you will just put the weight straight back on again, with interest. Stick to the Dukan diet and you will lose weight quickly and safely.

If you weigh yourself every day, you may end up disappointed and demoralized when you discover that the pound you thought you had lost when you weighed yourself in the morning has returned in the afternoon! Your weight will fluctuate and daily weighing will do you no good at all. Stick to weekly weighing if you feel you must get on the scales.

Losing heart after a slip

Everyone slips at some point or another during their diet. Sometimes it is an accident, mistaking full fat yogurt for zero fat yogurt, and sometimes you have to accept a slice of cake at the office party. If you slip, do not worry. One or two slips will have such a tiny effect on the overall diet that it is just not worth worrying about. Let's say you go out with a friend to celebrate her birthday and you end up drinking a few glasses of wine and then at the restaurant, well, you get stuck in! Don't worry about it. Start the next day straight back on the Dukan diet and keep on going. Just think of it as adding a couple of days on the end of your diet to make up for it. And that isn't such a crisis after all.
