Dukan Diet - Eat Tasty Food And Still Lose Weight

The extraordinary Dukan Diet by Dr Pierre Dukan has been very successful in helping people to lose weight.

One of the reasons is that the food that you can eat during the diet is very appetising.

For a start during the first phase, the attack phase you are allowed to eat only proteins.

This really is not too much of a hardship, for a lot of people love proteins and it would be one of the last things I would want to give up when I am on a diet.

In this phase you can eat food such as chicken, lean beef and sea foods.

You are encouraged to use your imagination and add flavourings such as lemon, which gives a very pleasant tang to your food and will give your taste buds something to look forward to.

During The next phase the cruise phase, you are allowed to add vegetables every other day.

You are not supposed to have starchy vegetables such as potatoes but there is a mouth watering list of about twenty eight vegetables that you are allowed to eat.

These include healthy vegetables such as beetroot (which is good for lowering blood pressure), broccoli (high in iron), mushrooms (a good source of zinc).

Other great vegetables such as tomatoes, onions, lettuce,cucumber and pumpkins are included.

So during the cruise phase you could have a nice cold meat salad chicken with beetroot and tomatoes, lettuce and cucumber.

Celebration Meals To Look Forward To

Once you have completed the cruise phase you will start the consolidation phase which allows you to add bread and fruit.

This really is the diet that just gets better and better!

There are not many people that do not enjoy fruit, so I am sure you will enjoy this stage of the diet.

You have a good choice of fruits that you can choose from including apples, pears, berries and grapefruit.

In this phase you are also allowed rice and potatoes and you are allowed up to two celebration meals each week where you can eat anything, although you probably will not want to eat too much and put the weight back on again.

So as you can see, the Dukan diet really is a lot more interesting that diets where you count calories, this is probably one of the reasons why people persevere with it.
